When you run spm, it runs the figure command. If MATLAB crashes when
you call figure, I don't think there's much we can suggest in order to
get your system running SPM.
If you get any error messages, these could be helpful in order to
diagnose the problem. They often contain useful keywords for
searching the Mathworks web site for solutions.
