Dear all

a more detailed announcement of my availability as a partner / consultant or project manager for the above call was published through the Digital Curation Centre web site at the following address last Friday, together with other two announcements from the Roslin Institute and Brunel University:

    <http://www.dcc.ac.uk/contact-us/help-desk/managing-research-data-programme-helpdesk/partnership-forum/submissions>

For a wider findability and accessibility - since I see the documents are now available only as Word files this morning, not anymore as HTML files - I copy and paste the text of my message here:

-------- Begin of the text published at <http://www.dcc.ac.uk/contact-us/help-desk/managing-research-data-programme-helpdesk/partnership-forum/submissions> -------

Contact name: Brunella Longo

Which strand of funding do you wish to bid for? :
Institutional Research Data Management Infrastructure (for those just making a start on developing institutional infrastructure)

Institutional Research Data Management Infrastructure (looking to further develop existing institutional infrastructure)

Research Data Management Planning for Projects or Departments
Integrated Research Data Management Planning Tools for Institutions

Is there a specific discipline you are working with? :
I have been investigating business developments, governance, policies, legal behavioural and infrastructural aspects of internet based services since the late 1990s as a practitioner and independent scholar providing management consultancy and research information services. From 2003 on my attention turned towards methods and disciplines that could provide substantial help in dealing with cybercrime issues. Having found little help from existing knowledge, especially for forensic purposes, I decided to start my own investigations in the field with an interdisciplinary approach - though my background is in information management. Preliminary findings of the first stage of my research in a draft self-arcvhived version are available in the paper "Cataloguing the Unfindable. Mapping cybercrime in information management practices" since November 2010 (see http://ssrn.com/author=817174 or Publications page on my web site). Guidelines useful to prevent detect
report cybercrimes and misbehaviours will be delivered through a Workshop (see announcement on my web site and at http://www.italchamind.eu/EN/news_board.aspx?id=219).

What areas of work are you looking to undertake? :
Next stage of my own research should be about performance indicators and other measurements that can help understanding how to improve safety and security of data project management habits, procedures, standards in a certain organisational environment. In fact, without cloud computing governance and records management literacy and policies tailored and adapted at business level and measured according to some standards at international level, it is unlikely we are able to create strong infrastructures. Therefore I am available to join any existing team wishing to bid for any strand of this call on these aspects. In particular, as I have already announced on a JISC list (https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A2=LIS-LINK;668c760b.1107) I am happy to brief preferably for projects with commercial or international harmonization goals in any sector and / or to act as project manager for projects dealing with statistical risks of unreliability (missing
data) and translation problems (metadata assurance).
What skills/contributions are you seeking from partners?:
Technical expertise especially with regard to latest mobile technologies, seamless integration, authentication and other areas in which a specific procedural knowledge determined by a particular technology may constitute either a problem or a solution for existing frameworks.

Additional information:
See my website at http://www.brunellalongo.co.uk

Kind Regards
