SPIRE Calibration Scientist

Based at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory
The astronomy group at the STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory invite
applications for a two year fixed term post as a member of the Spire
Instrument Control Centre (ICC) team.
This team has responsibility for operations of the Spire Instrument on
the Herschel Space Observatory and ICC members perform a number of tasks
including development and maintenance of instrument software, monitoring
instrument health and performance, development of instrument
calibration, improvements to the data processing and support to the ESA
Herschel Science Centre. The person filling this position will join the
SPIRE calibration team and will be expected to take a lead in
calibration data analysis, assist with maintaining the calibration plan
and will be required to deliver routine calibration observations to the
Herschel Science Centre. They will also provide support to the data
processing teams and editorial teams.
