Hi everyone,
I thought you might be interested in an intriguing, creative event coming up:
As part of the Wellcome Trust’s 75th anniversary celebrations, senior citizens from Camden, and textile design students from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design have collaborated on a project called Threads and Yarns, hosted at the V&A in London.
In a series of workshops, participants discussed their personal experiences of health and wellbeing spanning 75 years, and together created an interactive textile artwork - a carpet of talking flowers that features a subset of their recollections. Oral historians also captured the recollections and researchers have been responding to the themes emerging.
A Threads and Yarns Display Day event will be held at the V&A on 18 July 2011. Participants will hear first hand accounts from many of those involved in the creative workshops, including seniors and researchers. There will also be opportunities for everyone to try their hand at craft skills throughout the day, plus see the display of inspiring work created during the earlier workshops.
The event is free and booking is through the V&A. There's more info and a link through to booking here:

I look forward to seeing some of you there.
Best wishes
Amy Sanders
