Berghahn Journals continues to have a exciting 2011 with the launches of
several new journals, the addition of an existing journal to our roster, and
the addition of one of our titles to three important indexes. We are
looking forward to continuing to make important contributions to diverse
fields in the social sciences and humanities.
1. Berghahn Journals Launches New Journal Series
Berghahn Journals is pleased to announce the launch of its Advances in
Research line of annuals with the inaugural issues of two titles:
-Environment and Society: Advances in Research
<http://journals.berghahnbooks.com/air-es/> focuses on human interaction
with the environment and the cross-cultural challenges created by that
interaction.
- Religion and Society: Advances in Research
<http://journals.berghahnbooks.com/air-rs/> focuses on the expanding
sub-discipline of the anthropology of religion.
Advances in Research responds to the need for rigorous in-depth review of
current issues in the social sciences and humanities and seeks to stimulate
advanced research and action on particularly critical issues of today. With
their interdisciplinary and international scope they aim to encourage
communication and exchange across academic fields.
2. Berghahn Publishes First Issue of Regions and Cohesion
Berghahn has published the first issue of Regions and Cohesion
<http://journals.berghahnbooks.com/reco/> , an interdisciplinary journal
concerned with topics related to human and environmental security, social
cohesion, and governance. It aims to provide a platform for discussion
across fields and should be of interest to anthropologists, political
scientists, geographers, sociologists, and others working on international
issues. Berghahn is delighted to publish such an important and useful
contribution to the scholarship on security and transnational issues.
3. Contributions to the History of Concepts now published by Berghahn
In 2011, Berghahn is proud to announce it will be taking over the
publication of Contributions to the History of Concepts
<http://journals.berghahnbooks.com/choc/> , the international peer-reviewed
journal of the History of Political and Social Concepts Group.
Contributions serves as a platform for theoretical and methodological
articles as well as empirical studies on the history of concepts and their
social, political, and cultural contexts. It aims to promote the dialogue
between the history of concepts and other disciplines, such as intellectual
history, history of knowledge and science, linguistics, translation studies,
history of political thought and discourse analysis.
4. Thomson Reuters selects Nature and Culture for three indexes
Thomson Reuters has selected Nature and Culture for indexing and abstracting
in:
-Social Sciences Citation Index
-Journal Citation Reports/Social Sciences Edition
-Current Contents/Social and Behavioral Sciences
Currently in its sixth edition, Nature and Culture is a forum for the
international community of scholars and practitioners to present, discuss,
and evaluate critical issues and themes related to the historical and
contemporary relationships that societies, civilizations, empires, regions,
nation-states have with nature. The journal contains a serious interpolation
of theory, methodology, criticism, and concrete observation forming the
basis of this discussion.
I welcome any thoughts or questions you have about any of our titles.
Best Regards,
Brian Campbell
