Earlier this month, the Nudge Unit released a report on how behavioural
insights may be used to inform policy interventions to get us to reduce
our energy levels (gas, electricity etc, not calories). In the latest
blog, I provide a comment on the report.
The Government are proposing to trial a number of interventions (which
could just as easily apply to other countries too) so as to gather
evidence, and I summarise those in the blog. It is a sensible approach,
and the interventions are quite interesting, although not all, it seems
to me, are informed by behavioural economics.
