This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience in conducting qualitative research to contribute to the evaluation of an Integrated Care Pilot (ICP) for elderly people and people with diabetes in North West London.
Educated at postgraduate level, the successful candidate will have PhD or a Masters degree in sociology, psychology, anthropology or health services research. Applications from applicants with expertise in mixed methods research (quantitative and qualitative) are particularly welcome.
This is an opportunity for the post-holder to join a vibrant Department at Imperial College and to contribute to a variety of research activities, including the preparation of papers for publication, reports and conferences. The post-holder will also represent the Department and the College at regular meetings with NHS London officials.
Main Duties:
The post holder will be required to:
• To work collaboratively with the ICP evaluation team to organise, plan and conduct qualitative and where appropriate quantitative (survey) investigations.
• To contribute to the analysis of materials collected from focus groups, interviews and surveys.
• To attend relevant research and management meetings, communicate research findings to the Integrated Care Organisation (ICO) and contribute to the dissemination of results via preparing articles for publication and reports.
• To contribute to the wider development of research activity and the development of research strategy within the Department.
Planning and Organising:
The post holder will help with the planning and organisation of the evaluation of the NW London ICP.
Problem Solving:
The post holder is expected to use initiative and experience to tackle methodological issues in research design, practical issues with conducting research and analysing data. There will, however, be receiving strong support from other members of the research team.
