I am doing some work now with multiple echo data, where the 4th dimension is the echo time. I was hoping to use the Nifti file format to store these 4D data sets, but am not sure it is possible now. Looking at the header I see that any information specific to the individual images in the 4th dimension is tossed out, and I was hoping to store the echo times with each of the 32 echos. Am I correct that there is not place in the header to store a vector matching the 4th dimension?
If the echoes are regularly spaced, which I think ours are, it is possible to reduce this to two numbers for the train, a starting echo time and a delta. Can anyone suggest a spot to store two floats in the Nifti header?
Thanks,
-Jeff
