Dear all,
We are working towards developing an international standard for eye
tracker accuracy and precision, as the second international standard
from the COGAIN Association. We will have a plenary talk at ECEM and our
first committee meeting. COGAIN is an independent, not for profit
organisation of academic researchers, manufacturers and users of eye
trackers, working to develop technology and applications for human
computer interaction, including gaze based communication for persons
with physical disability. Previous standardisation work led to an
international standard for the use of infra red light in eye trackers,
which is now in the final stages of review with the CIE / ISO.
In preparation for the first meeting of this technical committee, we are
putting together a compendium of all available literature or relevant
existing standards as part of this work. There is not a huge amount of
literature on eyetracker accuracy and precision / data quality out there, so we would
like to ask if any of you are aware of relevant work?
This standard will be of great benefit to manufacturers, users, researchers alike, there is
no existing method of testing for accuracy and precision which is suitable for all the
systems currently produced.
All work is independent, members of the technical committee are allowed
to represent only their own expertise and not the interest of any
particular company. We welcome public debate and transparency, please
see
http://www.cogain.org/forums/forums/eye-tracker-accuracy-and-precision
if you would like to comment on or question any aspect of the work. The
members of the technical committee are listed below.
Many thanks,
