The School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) at the University of
Sheffield is now offering an accredited stand-alone unit on the
Principles of systematic review and evidence synthesis.
The unit is taught part-time by e-learning, lasts 15 weeks (12 weeks of
taught materials, 3 weeks for assignment completion) and costs £2,500.
It is delivered in online, distance learning formats, using the
university's new Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) supported by
Blackboard. This offers good value as there are no travel, materials or
residency costs and, because it is also a core unit on the University's
new postgraduate programme in International HTA, Pricing and
Reimbursement, can ultimately also contribute to certificate or diploma
accreditation for this degree. The time involved (4 months) also permits
study at much greater critical depth than can be achieved in some
residential short courses.
The unit will run in Semester 1 this year (end of September 2011 -
February 12)
Applications are being taken now.
