Hi all,
My name is Steve Parkes and I am an MSc student at the Institute for
Transport Studies at the University of Leeds, UK. I am conducting
research as part of my Masters dissertation into the spread and
distribution in the uptake of public bike hire schemes throughout
Europe. This research requires the surveying of cities that have
implemented a bike hire scheme and also those that are considering the
implementation of one.
The focus of the research is on '3rd Generation' schemes such as Paris
and Lyon. These are schemes that include the use of sophisticated
electronic docking stations, smart card technology, key fobs etc.
I have been contacting schemes in Europe directly to distribute the
online survey's I designed. In order to maximise the response rate I
would be extremely grateful if anybody here would be able to provide
me with any contacts they may be aware of at any European schemes or
alternatively pass the links to the surveys on to anybody who would be
in a position to complete the survey about their specific scheme.
The survey's are short and take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
The questions include the year of adoption, bicycle and stations
numbers, any external partner involvement and reasons for adoption.
There are two separate survey's, one for cities with an existing
scheme and an other for cities that are considering creating a scheme.
These are the links to the surveys:

Cities with a proposed scheme

I'm very grateful for any help you can provide me with this.
Many thanks
Steve Parkes
