The final seminar in the ESRC series ‘the Socio-Politics of Biosecurity: Science, Policy and Practice’ is focusing on ‘the Future of Biosecurity, and Biosecuring the Future’.
The seminar will consider the politics and practices of managing future biosecurity issues and events, from horizon scanning, to resilience planning, to preparedness, to risk analysis. Confirmed speakers currently include: Bruce Braun, Louise Amoore, Daniel Simberloff, and Jeff Waage.
The seminar will include a session considering the future of biosecurity in Galapagos, Ecuador, which is going through a period of significant biosecurity institutional redevelopment.
The seminar is taking place on the 22-23rd September 2011 in central London.
As with previous seminars, the transport and accommodation costs of UK based participants will be covered in full. Limited funds may be available for non-UK based participants: please contact us to discuss.
