Subject: An idea: A National Network for the Post-16 Educational Support
of Care Leavers
Dear Colleagues,
I am coming to the end of my time with Aimhigher in Kent and Medway (I
leave tomorrow) to move to a job with Thanet College where, luckily for
me, I will be able to continue to lead our work on supporting young care
leavers across Kent and Medway.
Having worked closely with so many of you, and learned so much together,
I think it would be a shame if we did not continue our collaboration in
the future. Would you be interested in coming together to form a
national network so that we can continue to learn from one another and
to share the best of what we do for young people in and leaving care?
I'm more than happy to collect the names of everyone who is interested
and to find a venue for an exploratory meeting early next term. It
would be so good to continue working with you.
My colleague Vanessa has offered to help pull us all together while she
is still in post (until October), an offer too good to resist! If you,
or a colleague, are interested could you please respond to
