Dear All,
I am pleased to announce the launch of the Homecoming Scotland 2009 Archive website at http://homecoming09archive.qmu.ac.uk/ The website features digitised publicity and background material contained within a Pivot Viewer which we feel enables intuitive and exciting searching. Furthermore, you can watch interviews with First Minister Alex Salmond and former First Minister Jack McConnell which have been filmed as part of this project. We would be very pleased to hear your feedback.
To coincide with the launch, an exhibition is taking place in the Adam Dome, National Archives of Scotland, Register House, Edinburgh between 25th July and 12th August. This gives viewers the chance to experience the website, view the artefacts associated with Homecoming and learn more about the year-long celebration of all things Scottish. Daily talks are held at 10:30 and 14:30, to which all are welcome.
We look forward to hearing your thoughts and welcoming you to the exhibition. However, don't worry if you can't attend as the exhibition will be touring the country over the next few months!
Lindsey Short, Project Archivist, on behalf of the Homecoming Scotland 2009 Archive Project Board, Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.
