Dear Allstat,

Ipsos MORI currently have two openings for statistical roles within our Research

Methods Centre, the roles are based in London. A description of each role is

provided below. If you are interested in either role please can you apply

through our website at the following address http://www.candidatemanager.net/cm/Micro/SearchResults.aspx?&mid=YWEVEV&SCH=BWCX&a=LuWseqQR1mM%3d&VJ=&key=&CC=&RC=&SC=&S=&JC=&CJF=0&CL=1294&CJCS=

Role 1

Statistics Director- Ipsos MORI Research Methods Centre

Ipsos MORI is seeking a Director-level expert in Statistical methods in order to

add value to survey-based research, demonstrating a high level and breadth of

knowledge in this area and associated techniques. The role will sit at the

heart of the Research Methods Centre at Ipsos MORI and will involve liaising

with external clients and our own researchers across a wide range of subject

areas, in particular our Public Sector, Media and Loyalty specialisms.

The ideal applicant will have a postgraduate degree (Masters or PhD) with

substantial statistical content. They will be able to demonstrate substantial

analytical, strategic and management experience ideally gained within a Market

or Survey Research environment. They would be required to lead a team of high

calibre statistically-skilled individuals and would therefore be expected to

understand methods involving multivariate analysis of survey data, sampling and

survey design aspects and be able to learn quickly about new methods which come

to the market place either via the academic or industry sector.

At Director level it is expected that the role holder possesses the skills and

interest to effectively manage and coach less experienced members within their

team, being an ambassador and guardian of the brand for Ipsos MORI in order to

significantly contribute to the strategic direction of the business unit. They

would also need to be active in seeking ways of increasing the volume and

profitability of statistical work at Ipsos MORI through new business

opportunities.

The ideal applicant would thus need to demonstrate substantial senior market

research expertise within the specialty, success in designing sound business

plans outlining client, people, collaboration and financial considerations, P&L

accountability, superb project management capabilities, full ownership of

delivering superior value-add client insights and proven business development

experience.

Role 2

Statistical Consultant - Ipsos MORI, Borough

Ipsos MORI are looking for bright and ambitious candidate for the role of

Statistical Consultant to join our Research Methods Centre (RMC). The RMC team

is a cross cutting team providing consultancy on research methodologies and

value added analysis to four divisions within the company; Public Affairs,

Loyalty, Media and ASI.

The successful applicant should have experience in running a number of

multivariate techniques, preferably in their previous employment. Experience in

the use of the following multivariate techniques would be a benefit but not

essential; Segmentation, General Linear Modelling, Discrete Choice modelling and

Factor analysis. The successful applicant would be expected to also have some

background knowledge in survey methodology and sample designs.

The Statistical applicant should be able to advise in the planning of projects,

run the most appropriate analysis on the survey data and communicate and present

findings to external clients. Therefore we are looking for someone with a

combination of very strong analytical skills in survey research and good

interpersonal and time management skills.

The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate degree (Masters or PhD) with

substantial statistical content and an excellent understanding of advanced

analytical research techniques, both on a theoretical and practical level. Prior

experience working in the market research sector would be an advantage as well

as any managerial experience.

They should be highly competent in at least one of the statistical software

packages SPSS or SAS. Knowledge and experience in other programming languages

such as R and VBA is advantageous.

About Ipsos MORI

Ipsos MORI is one of the UK's strongest research consultancies and is part of

the third largest global survey based research agency, with a HQ in Paris. With

an enviable portfolio of national and global clients, we are determined to

operate at the heart of business and public decision-making.

Many thanks
