RESEARCH FELLOW IN SENSORY EPIDEMIOLOGY

leave loading and up to 17% super
The Sydney Medical School - Westmead provides leading undergraduate and
postgraduate education and has built a reputation of excellence for
training and research in primary care, public health and clinical
medicine.
We are currently seeking a high achieving Research Fellow to contribute
to the research profile of the Centre for Vision Research. You will be a
dedicated and experienced postdoctoral researcher who has ambitions to
develop a career in epidemiology/public health/health economics
research. The role will be located at our Westmead campus.
In this role you will:
* work closely with the Centre Director and other team members on
various research projects related to sensory epidemiology
* develop and lead your own research activities relevant to the
Centre including preparation of research proposals, grant applications
and publications.
To be successful in the role you will have:
* PhD or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. Ophthalmology,
Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Economics)
* demonstrated record of research achievement, including high
quality research output
* demonstrated ability to use initiative and work effectively with
minimal supervision, together with experience in working within a
university research team
* ability to communicate research outcomes and research ideas
* experience working in the area of epidemiology and public health
will be highly regarded (desirable)
* experience preparing research proposals, and/or grant
applications (desirable)
* experience with statistical analysis of quantitative data
(desirable)
* experience working with databases and large data files
(desirable).

population-based research, providing many opportunities to use a number
of large datasets to address novel research issues.
