An opportunity has arisen for a Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Analyst in the new BMJ Technology Assessment Group (BMJ-TAG), which is part of the BMJ Evidence Centre. Reporting to the Head of HTA, the successful candidate will:
• Develop, design and undertake all aspects of systematic reviews for use in HTA submissions (e.g. NICE Multiple Technology Appraisals [MTAs])
• Appraise the robustness and sensitivity of any assumptions made in manufacturers submissions for HTA (e.g. NICE MTAs and NICE single technology appraisals [STAs])
• Perform data analysis, as required, for standard pairwise meta-analysis
• Perform data analysis, as required, for adjusted indirect comparisons and mixed treatment comparisons
• Provide input to clinical trial design and analysis of results
• Manage relationships with HTA bodies for ongoing appraisals and with external experts
The Person
You have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant analytical discipline (e.g. MSc in Medical Statistics, or equivalent). You will be able to demonstrate a track record and significant experience of a range of evidence synthesis techniques (including different types of meta-analysis) and an excellent understanding of the HTA requirement for decision-making based on clinical evidence and cost-effectiveness analysis. It is essential that you are highly computer literate in meta-analytic software (such as Comprehensive Meta-Analysis).
