The Way To Be Awards were launched in 2004 to celebrate and reward the local services and businesses that do the most for disabled people.
Many local businesses go to great lengths to cater for disabled customers, but there is still a long way to go before Cambridge is as accessible and welcoming as we know it could be.
Cambridge City Council have supported the scheme since its launch in 2004, and are keen to encourage actions that benefit Cambridge's disabled citizens and visitors. The 2010 winners were Richard Thompson's Taxis and Cambridge on Ice
For the 2011 ceremony, the Way to Be award will be presented at the Love Cambridge AGM and Award ceremony on 15 September.
Businesses have appreciated winning The Way To Be Awards and so please do encourage your customers to complete a form. If you would like to nominate someone or display leaflets in your premises please contact;

The Love Cambridge Charter has been developed to assist city centre businesses and organisations to address three areas which will help improve everyone’s experience of Cambridge.
The Charter promotes:
· Excellent customer service within the city
· Ways in which we can improve the physical appearance of our streets
· Offer guidance on how taking small steps in reducing your carbon emissions can contribute to tackling climate change.
Love Cambridge is the trading name for the Cambridge City Centre Partnership, a dynamic organisation which brings together a wide range of interests, across both the public and private sectors and encourages them to work together proactively on a range of projects to improve the city.
