Dear Colleagues,
*CALL FOR PAPERS*: Special Issue on "*Integrated Healthcare Information
Systems",*
*IEEE Transactions on Information Technology in Biomedicine *
(*http://bme.ee.cuhk.edu.hk/TITB/calls4paper.html#si12*).
Research indicates that Integrated Medical Information Systems are becoming
an essential part of the modern healthcare systems. Such systems have
evolved to an integrated enterprise-wide system. In particular, such
systems are
considered as a type of enterprise information systems or enterprise systems
addressing healthcare industry sector needs. There are many research issues
needed to be addressed.
To respond the needs from both academic researchers and practitioners for
communicating and publishing their research outcomes, and contribute to the
progress in the state-of-knowledge and state-of-the-art of the topic, *IEEE
Transactions on Information Technology in Biomedicine* will publish a
special issue dedicated to the topic of "Integrated Medical Information
Systems". The purpose of this special issue is to provide researchers
and practitioners
an opportunity to share the most recent research on the topic. The target of
the Special Issue is to introduce the development of scientific methods and
technologies in integrated healthcare information systems in recent years,
to provide insights into challenges, issues, and solutions related to the
topic.
This issue will collect high quality articles on the topic. It will publish
basic and applied papers of integrated information technology applications
in healthcare and biomedicine on topics including but not limited to the
following: e-health care, electronic health record system, interoperability
and connectivity, regional and community health information networks,
hospital information systems, disease management systems, telemedicine,
virtual reality applications, grids in biomedicine, etc.
