30 August 2011 10:00am-4:30pm
Presented by Professor Vernon Gayle, University of Stirling
Venue: Lab 2Y5 Cottrell Building, University of Stirling
Course Content
"A picture paints a thousand words!" In Professor Gayle's experience,
with the exception of weighting, graphing data is one of the most
troublesome aspects of data analysis. This event will be a practical
workshop in which participants will learn more about graphs and the
graphical presentation of data and results. There will be a wide range
of social science examples that demonstrate how to get more from the
graphical and presentational features of Stata. The workshop will help
participants produce better quality graphs in their research outputs.
Course objectives:
To teach participants about the graphical facilities available in Stata
and how to make the most of what is available.
To better facilitate the production of graphs that are suitable for
research publications and doctoral theses.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the workshop you will:
Be aware of the graphical facilities available in Stata and how to use them.
Be able to produce graphs that are suitable for research publications
and doctoral theses using Stata.
