Jeremy, EMI made this proposal and the EGI OMB has replied asking for full support and security support to continue until the end of October. I raised your concerns and said that this would be just about reasonable if EMI-1 Argus worked now. If it doesn't work soon then I said we would need to push back October.
In reply to Elena, the decision to install glite Argus was a conscious one knowing that glite should be fully supported until the end of October (security support until April) and because the real release schedule of EMI-1, UMD was unclear. I think that decision was right and EMI are premature to drop a component when the replacement is not yet trouble-free. .
Savannah suggests the problems Raul found are fixed in EMI-1.4 but I don't know the relese date for that.
