Hi
We have a software application aimed at children aged 9-11, linking to Key Stage 2 learning objectives for building narratives (telling stories !).
The children use our image browsing software to select a number of images from a museum collection, then use those images to help them construct a story.
We've tested this with a local primary school and both the staff and children embraced the system very enthusiastically. This has been a collaboration with the Polar Museum in Cambridge, who are now adding the system to their outreach efforts.
Please contact me for further information.
Alan.

Subject: Software for children visiting museums
Hi all,
One of our members has contacted me (message below) asking for advice on software for kids/teens to use when visiting their museum. Not something I've had any experience of I'm afraid - can anyone offer any suggestions? I'd assume that they're after things that are cheap or, even better, free.
> I would really like to find out about programmes for children and
> teens for computer.
> I know there are jigsaw type programmes, that we could use pictures of
> artefacts in, but would like other ideas.
Thanks in advance for any advice that anyone can offer!
Kelvin
