As far as I knew the only Starlink software in Scisoft were the
standalone tools TopCat (and its command-line partner Stilts) and SPLAT.
After checking I see there's GAIA in there, but that invokes KAPPA
tasks. Peter Draper should be able to elucidate what was done to
include GAIA in Scisoft and if there could be a clash of KAPPA tasks
between the SSC and Scisoft.
As the Starlink Software Collection was far too large to include on
Scisoft. The issue, therefore, was which few packages and libraries to
include, and to ensure that every package continued to work after the
cull.

Are we talking about command name conflicts? Commands for the main
packages do have alternate forms with a prefix. So for example,
if you had a clash with "stats" and you want KAPPA's task, there is the
kap_stats definition.
