I think sometimes people want someone to listen and appreciate how they
feel. This GP perhaps had a good idea the headaches were due to low
blood sugars but the patient felt he had something worse. He obviously
has great trust in his GP and what a good way of starting with the
simple things instead of just handing out medication. Well done to this
GP but I dont think it is a wonder cure for migraine sufferers!

I suppose it may depend on why he gets the migraines in the first place
- if they were precipitated by being a bit hypoglycaemic then maybe
this is why it works?
I rarely get migraines now, but as one who suffered considerably in the
past have to say that this wouldnt have worked for me, may well have
accelerated the vomiting....

Hi,
I thought I would share this as it certainly came as news to me! (Maybe
I just don’t keep up as well as I should??!!)
I saw a client this morning who suffered with quite debilitating
migraines until about 16 months ago. He was advised by his GP to treat
these by taking 2 Paracetamol with water as soon as he felt one
starting and then put a tablespoonful of sugar in his mouth and let it
dissolve naturally. My client now swears by this and has not suffered
from migraine since!
Has anyone else heard of this?
Rita
