Dion,
unfortunately cannot join the chat room this afternoon but this is a question that has just come up to my mind while trying to contact via email a colleague at her business address.
Her company has a web site targeted to international markets with a strong value proposition in terms of CSR and ethical issues.
Internal communication, intranets and (as far as I know also) at least partially procurement workflows and some web contents are managed through Sharepoint by small teams active in every Country.
Does it make any sense from a technical, organisational and communication point of view to completely hide the email addresses of everybody working for the company worldwide? I see an enormous implicit conflict in terms of transparency and communication but what about the cyber-security strategy? Does the company support the idea that employees are more protected from corruptions and other possible threats? what about the accountability of the same people, with regard to their own customers?
I would be very happy to know what others people think about this apparently very simple and innocuous element of communication (and obviously configuration) of email addresses.
Kind Regards
