Loughborough University and Paragon Law are co-funding a policy-relevant PhD studentship on highly skilled-migrants and their contribution to the UK 'knowledge-economy'. The successful candidate will be based at the Department of Geography, and commence work on 1st October 2011. The project will aim to:
1. Explore the potential for highly-skilled migrants to set up STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)-related enterprises in the UK;
2. Investigate existing incentives and disincentives to migrant entrepreneurship in the UK, for example, transnational connections, government policy and private equity.
