You have got me back to reading Avital Ronell, Crack wars: Literature
Addiction Mania.
Heavy and slow going, one page an hour type stuff. My Heidegger not too
good, but illness and addiction present as the double impossibility of
Dasein (as in the care of the self as being.) This logic can explain the
exclusion of the ill and addicted from metaphysical Being. However to
reject metaphysics alone will not end discrimination against those who
are ill or otherwise disabled. (Philosophy; that most cruel academic
discipline.)
Anyways, this connects also to my idea of free indirect discourse
lyrics, for which I can now provide a theoretical defence... but not
now. But some time later I really should write this out. cj
