Many thanks,
Michaela Livingstone.
We are delighted to announce the launch of our new national molecular biology project, ‘Hands-on DNA: Exploring Evolution’. The project is funded by the Wellcome Trust and is in partnership with three ASDC members; Centre for Life in Newcastle, Nowgen in Manchester and At-Bristol.
This exciting project aims to extend the opportunity to explore evolution using high-quality, engaging molecular biology workshops to students across the UK.
‘Hands-on DNA: Exploring Evolution’ will make this possible by providing all the training and equipment needed to enable 15 UK organisations to deliver one of two high-quality molecular biology workshops (one of which is aimed for centres with no prior experience of molecular workshops).
We are now seeking applications from organisations who would receive both equipment and training.
All the information and the application form, which can be found at:
www.sciencecentres.org.uk/projects/handsondna/
The deadline for applications is midnight July 4 2011.
We would encourage you to discuss any questions with the project manager, Michaela Livingstone, in advance of the deadline. Feel free to phone (0117 915 0184) or email her ([log in to unmask]).
If you intend to apply we’d be delighted if you wish to register your interest in advance, by emailing [log in to unmask]
With warmest wishes
