A postdoctoral position in experimental physical chemistry is available immediately to work with Profs. Ken Janda and Sergey Nizkorodov at the University of California, Irvine. The position is for studies of photodissociation dynamics and spectroscopy of hydrogen and halogen bonded complexes, especially complexes of dihalogen molecules with one or more water molecules. Nanosecond and picosecond pump-probe spectroscopy will be used to explore the structure and dynamics of the complexes in a free jet expansion. We also want to explore the use of pump-probe cavity ring down techniques. Previous experience with pulsed lasers, supersonic jets, time-of-flight mass spectrometry, and/or high-resolution spectroscopy is highly desirable. The initial appointment will be for one year, with a possibility of renewal. To express your interest in this position, send a CV, names of references and a list of publications to Prof. Sergey Nizkorodov (project co-investigator) at [log in to unmask] The University of California is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer committed to excellence through diversity.
