Hi All
A good point here which I feel needs some clarification.
If external links are permitted on this list it takes little imagination to
see where it could lead to.
On the other hand there is a lot of relevant stuff out there, historic
footage of Dinorwic working, Cornish Tim Mining, and a lot more which I have
little doubt many list members would be very interested in. Me for one!
It seems to me that opinion is going to vary quite a lot here.
I suppose at the end of the day its is the owners who make the rules and we
must abide by them.
So, can we please have some clarification?

Subject: Re: Mining History - or not
I am sorry to jump in here. I just seek clarification. While I agree
with the points made about recent postings, not everything put up on
YouTube is of that nature and there is a fair bit of academic and
historical content out there.
I would for example like to make list members aware of the Copper
Project's new 'channel' which currently has silent (very sedate)
picture shows relating to copper history and the post-industrial
reclamation project in the Lower Swansea Valley. But shortly to be
added, very rare colour footage of the old smelting works being
demolished [yes, not strictly mining history but very relevant].
Are youtube links given with such context acceptable or is there a
blanket ban on including external links on this mailing list?
I'd like to do so I don't inadvertently offend!
With all good wishes,
Tehmina
