Subject: Asia Pacific Regional Data Base Project
I am forwarding this on behalf of Arbell Kehila. Please note this is primarily for those of you who live or work in the Asia Pacific Region, or have colleagues in the Asia Pacific region to whom you can pass this along.
My name is Daphna Arbell Kehila, and I am a research assistant for a research project funded by the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disabilities (IASSID). Information about IASSID can be found at http://www.iassid.org
Professor Libby Cohen from James Cook University Singapore is the Principal Investigator for this project. We are developing a database regarding research studies that have been conducted or are currently being conducted on intellectual and developmental disabilities across the Asia Pacific region.
We are cataloguing: (1) current research and publications; (2) demonstration projects and evidence-based service initiatives; (3) availability of venues in sub-regional hubs and IT facilities to support local and pan regional symposium; and (4) the development of communities of practice.
The information in the database will help to guide IASSID's activities and plans in the Asia Pacific region in the future. The database will be made available on the IASSID website and will be shared with other networks. In this project, we are contacting individual researchers and professionals to gather information about current and past research activities, research support needs, needs for mentoring or peer support, and emerging research questions within the region. We would appreciate it if you would share this message with other colleagues who are working in the area of intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Please complete the categories below by 31 June 2011 and send the information to Daphna Kehila at [log in to unmask]
Thank you for your support of IASSID and this project.
Sincerely,
Professor Libby Cohen
Ms. Daphna Kehila
