LUCE IRIGARAY INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR
Since 2003, philosopher Luce Irigaray has held a seminar with an
international group of PhD students writing on aspects of her work. The
University of the West of England and the University of Bristol are
delighted to co-host the Luce Irigaray International Seminar this year at
the University of Bristol from 13-18 June 2011.
All are invited to the following events organised in conjunction with the
visit of Professor Irigaray and her students to the University of Bristol:

ROUNDTABLE EVENT
Reverberating Irigaray
Friday, 3 June, 2-5pm, Bristol Institute of Public Affairs, 2 Priory Road
A multi-disciplinary roundtable in which participants critically reflect on
Luce Irigaray's philosophical contribution to themes of law, justice and
ecology in their own research.
The roundtable will offer a space for reflection on how Irigaray's work on
difference, nature, and the symbolic and social orders has travelled along
multiple intellectual and institutional networks. It will demonstrate how
the translation and reception of Irigaray's work in these and other areas
has influenced, and been influenced by, diverse intellectual, aesthetic,
and political currents and communities.
