Hello, hello!
Hope everyone's well and making the most of British Summertime. All 48 hours of it.
I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations/ suggestions regarding plays that deal with the theme of female crossdressing- that is specifically female characters who dress as men. It can be from any time scale (although, I'm pretty secure on Shakespeare's use of it). Any further reading (books, articles etc) that highlights it would be great too. Ideally, I'm looking for more mdoern representations of it (post Top Girls).
Also, any pointers on useful reading on music hall acts (female/ male crossdressing) would be greatly appreciated.
Please e-mail me at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> so as not to clog up the list.
Many thanks for your help!
Danielle
