Hi all,
I just wanted to let you know that the Hub blog is still going strong, and we are now including a monthly diary, known as HubbuB (couldn't resist!).
You can find the blog at http://archiveshub.ac.uk/blog and the first HubbuB entry at http://archiveshub.ac.uk/blog/?p=2657
HubbuB is primarily aimed at those with an interest in what is happening at Hub HQ, Hub developments, promoting archives and news relating to archives, but we hope that it will be of general interest, especially to those who might be considering contributing to the Hub. Other blog posts are on a range of topics ranging form Linked Data to training to standards to user-focussed development.
Anyone interested in contributing may like to know that we have workshops coming up: http://archiveshub.ac.uk/contributortraining/. Only one place left on the London workshop, but we've added Cardiff to our UK tour!
The Hub is fast approaching 200 contributors, which we are very pleased about, and we continue to receive some great descriptions. Recent contributors include the V&A Theatre and Performance Collections, BT Archives, the Co-operative Archive, St John's College Oxford, Hull University, Dundee University, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (short pause whilst I looked up spelling of that one!), the Architectural Association and the Royal Botanical Gardens Edinburgh.
On a slightly different note, if you have an interest in Linked Data, our blog provides some thoughts about our current Linked Data project, and the project blog (Locah), provides quite an in-depth perspective: http://blogs.ukoln.ac.uk/locah/
And finally, I am in London 14-16 June, with a free day on 15th June. If anyone in central London is interested in contributing and would like a chat, I am happy to pop in. For all in London, note that we are very happy to provide your descriptions to AIM25 as well - you just need to let us know.
with best wishes,
Jane and the Hub team.
