Statistical Scientist - Switzerland

Our client a major pharmaceutical company, is seeking a Statistical Scientist for their Basel site.
JOB ROLE:
The Statistical Scientist will determine the strategic statistical direction through expert level shaping and negotiation of (pre/early/full) clinical development programs. The role leads and optimizes the contribution from drug development scientists and influences the external environment as a thought leader and is a key contributor to strategic long-term decision-making.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES include:
• Ensures IIS strategic contributions to, and influences the direction of, robust clinical development plans and risk management plans
• Assuming leadership in developing strategic quantitative frameworks for clinical programs in close collaboration with senior management across multiple disease areas/Franchises simultaneously
• Representing clinical/submission team at regulatory interfaces/ external engagements, with objective and transparent strategic clinical program assessments using quantitative risk/probability of success assessments
• Liaising with senior management to influence and negotiate drug development innovation and clinical development plans.
• Negotiate product strategy using strategic statistical scientific consulting, providing quantitative contributions to regulatory/submission strategy and related activities
• Identify opportunity, foster and drive the full integration of modern aspects of drug development including model-based drug development and statistical methodologies through to major drug development milestones
• Prepare and deliver advanced decision making support to senior management using modern synthesis techniques.
• Identify and promote the next generation opportunity for infrastructure / process / scientific consulting improvement initiatives
• Initiate and provide technical statistical expertise, leadership and serves as a role model and mentor to statistical scientists
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
• Masters in Statistics, PhD would be preferred
• Pharmaceutical experience for all phases
