Professor Calyampudi R. Rao, one of the world’s foremost statisticians, will be coming to LSE on 28 June 2011 to give a seminar.
Seminar title: “Learning from numbers to generate new knowledge”.

C. R. Rao is emeritus professor in the Department of Statistics at Penn State University and research professor at the University of Buffalo. He has recently been awarded the Guy Medal in Gold by the Royal Statistical Society. His many other awards include the National Medal of Science, awarded in 2002 in recognition for his theoretical work which helped to lay the foundation of modern statistics.
