The Estonian team of the OpenGENE project (www.geenivaramu.ee/opengene)
is organizing the international workshop
The 2nd OpenGENE Workshop on functional genomics and complex phenotypes
in The Baltic Region:
“Resequencing, genotyping and statistical analyses of common complex
disease”
August 23-26 2011, Tartu, Estonia
Registration will be open until 21st of June!
Speakers:
Andre Franke – Kiel, Germany /GWAS/ Crohn
Disease/ UC/ immune disease
Joel Hirschhorn – Broad of MIT & HArvard, USA /GWAS/
Anthropomethric traits/ common disease
Thomas Illig - München, Germany /Metabolomics/
'omics & systemsbiology
Erik Ingelsson – Karolinska Institutet, Sweden /Statistical
models / Risk prediction
Joris Veltman – Nijmegen, The Netherlands /Rare diseases/
2nd gen medical resequencing/ Genomic diagnostics
Jim Wilson – Edinburgh, UK /Isolate
populations/ Population 2nd gen resequencing/
The aim of the event is to bring together young investigators
(postdoctoral researchers and PhD students)
studying complex phenotypes in the framework of various disciplines, and
inspire them to design research
beyond the borders of their own disciplines. Such interdisciplinary
approach draws together research groups
working on different phenotypes and using different technologies in
their efforts to explain the "phenomena"
of complex genetics.
There is no registration fee.
More information and registation will be found on the official web page
(www.geenivaramu.ee/opengene/ws2).
The number of participants is limited - only a few places are left.
