Phil
We would be interested in developing a joint bid but don't know what as yet!
Things I have thought about are:
1. Hack days - applying for funding for a series of regional hack days - geeky hack days and also thinktank idea generation days - what can we do with our data vs what do users want from our data plus some funding take the best 5 ideas forward.
2. Mobile apps - development of mobile app(s) based on Culture Grid (and perhaps also Culture 24) data that both allows users to see items from all museums but could also be easily / quickly / cheaply adapted for individual museums so that individual museums could have their own mobile app.
3. Always interested in funding for digitisation - photography and documentation - Black Country collection strengths are fine art, geology, local made items, costume, if anyone else has contacted you about collection centric digitisation.
Best wishes
Linda

Subject: JISC Digitisation etc funding call
Hi all,
Just when you thought all the funding for digitisation was running
out...JISC have recently announced a call that should be of great
interest to the list, esp as they are keen to have cultural and other
organisations participate and make the most of this opportunity -
potentially as leads in the Digitisation strand, or as partners with
Higher Education institutions in the 'Open Educational Resources' and
'Clustering' strands.
Collections Trust would be interested in partnering and supporting bids
where appropriate, e.g. consortia of museums etc seeking to digitise
around particular areas, so do get in touch should you wish to consider
that.
