Thanks to you and Kudzai for the international support.
There doesn't seem to be a facebook page yet, but DPAC have a page about it with links to facebook and twitter:
http://www.dpac.uk.net/2011/06/reverse-the-bias-towards-segregation-campaign-demo-on-june-29th-westminster/
so you can spread the word via twitter and FB for now.

I totally agree with Kudzai. There are a number of inclusive education programmes in Africa that are currently being supported by development partners from UK. If inclusive education is no longer a priority in UK, this will have an adverse effect on the nature of activities development partners support; and obviously, inclusive education be only a dream to disabled people who have been fighting very hard to dismantle the walls of institutionalisation. Unfortunately as Kudzai rightly put it, there is a ripple effect, this should be stopped before damage is done. We can start a petition, which will then forward to our UK colleagues, in turn will forward it to the responsible authorities on the day of the march. The 1 Goal campaign could be another channel to use; since this campaign is for ensuring education for all, and I believe that they support inclusive education, then they should also do something about this. Article 24 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities makes it clear that we should ensure inclusive education at all levels; this is ensure that the MDG on education can be achieved. Lets' join our hands together Global North and Global South colleagues on this urgent issue.

Dear all,
my heart bleeds for the impact this uk government's insensitivity towards disabled people will have not only on the uk, but even in those other countries in the global south where the uk, rightly or wrongly, has generally been considered as a model to follow. This will inevitably have a ripple effect beyond the shores of the uk. I wish people like me in the global south could join hands with our colleagues in the uk and support the planned demonstration on the 29th or whatever new date, maybe just submitting written statements of support for the rights of disabled children to have inclusive education. It's just a thought. Better suggestions are indeed welcome. I for one will certainly participate in my own small way here in zimbabwe because i see these measures as potentially having a terrible universal effect.
Rise up fellow disabled colleagues and allies of the uk.

A lot of community based organisations may also be supporting this. Therefore I wonder how feasible it will be to have a massive demo on 29.

The Governments green paper 'Support and Aspiration: A New Approach to Special Educational Needs and Disability" is based entirely on the medical model of disability and will push back all the progress for which disabled people have struggled over the last 20 years. These proposals include:

June the 29th is the last day of the public consultation of these proposals made in the green paper.
