Dear all,
Please see below an advertisement for a 2-year Junior Research

invited in the fields of Fine Art, Music, or the literature of any
nation or period. Note that the terms of the Randall-McIver stipulate
that it must be held by a woman graduate (St Hilda's College now admits

The Governing Body of St Hilda’s College offers a Joanna Randall MacIver
Junior Research Fellowship tenable for two years from 1 October 2011 (or
as soon as possible thereafter) and not renewable thereafter. The
stipend will be in the region of £16,076 per annum (currently under
review) and the holder will be eligible to join the University’s
Superannuation Scheme (USS). There is also an allowance of up to £2,000
in support of research expenses incurred during the period of the
Fellowship.
Free board and residence in College is offered, except for brief periods
when the college is closed. The Fellow will be a member of the Senior
Common Room. Information about the College can be found on our website:
www.st-hildas.ox.ac.uk .
The Fellowship is offered for research in the fields of Fine Art, Music
or Literature of any nation in any period. Applications will be
considered from women graduates only, in their second or subsequent year
of doctoral research. Unless the circumstances are exceptional they
should neither be newcomers to research nor established scholars.
Although the Fellowship is intended for a relatively junior scholar,
this refers to the stage a candidate has reached in her career, rather
than to the age of the candidate. The College welcomes qualified
candidates of all ages and will take into account the individual
circumstances of each in selecting the successful candidate. Appointees
who are not nationals of the European Union, or permanent residents
entitled to work without restriction in the UK, will require a UK work
permit; the College will undertake to make the necessary application,
but the final appointment is contingent on this being successful.
Further Particulars, including details of how to apply, are available
from St Hilda’s College website at www.st-hildas.ox.ac.uk, or the
Academic Registrar, St Hilda’s College, Oxford OX4 1DY
([log in to unmask]). The closing date is Monday 20 June
2011 (by 12 noon), and it is expected that interviews will take place on
Friday 8 July 2011.
