UCL are pleased to announced a fully funded EngD (Engineering Doctorate) in
Assessing the volatility and resilience to extreme events of public-private
urban critical infrastructure investment approaches
with Project Partners Willis
The objective of this study is first to examine how and when we consider in
urban critical infrastructure Public and Private Partnership (PPP)
mechanisms. On the basis of these findings, the work will then analyse,
through use of case studies and examples in EU countries, the implementation
of a methodology to simulate the stochastic values of investment risks and
capture the investor’s flexibility to optimise the short-run and long-run
horizons of the investments. The final aim is to support Willis and the
wider international financial industry in their strategy towards the
establishment of smart financial instruments dedicated to urban critical
infrastructure investment. The work will be in line with on-going projects
in the QASER Lab: ENFOLDING (EPSRC) and Airport Financial Optimization
(EPSRC).
