Dear All
In the daily WLCG operations call yesterday (https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/LCG/WLCGDailyMeetingsWeek110502#Wednesday) ATLAS commented again that they still observe problems at some sites with glite-WN/3.2.10-0 leading to dlopen errors due to missing symbolic links(for example https://gus.fzk.de/ws/ticket_info.php?ticket=70264). I believe we touched on this at the Ops meeting on 19th April and Graeme reported it to the GridPP storage list on 15th April where the status was:
"(I'm not sure what happens if you try to upgrade your worker nodes, but it
>> seems a fresh install will definitely suffer from this issue.)

Maarten just said in the WLCG Ops meeting that there will be an updated WN release soon, which should reduce the number of work arounds - hopefully to 0! In the meantime, if you haven't upgraded, probably best not to (not that anyone would be upgrading on a Friday afternoon, I hope)."
The reason for circulating this message today is to point out that the the latest gLite RPMs have fixed the "missing link" problem... I have not looked to see when they became available.
regards,
Jeremy
