MAUDSLEY ANNUAL REVIEWS 2011
Institute of Psychiatry, London, UK
Monday, 27 June 2011 to Wednesday, 29 June 2011
(event website: http://www.iop.kcl.ac.uk/events/?id=1202)
We are delighted to announce the 2011 Maudsley Annual Reviews of Psychiatry that build on the success of our inaugural meeting and aim to bridge the gap between scientific developments in mental health and their application in clinical care.
Each year we select three themes that represent topics in psychiatry where substantial developments were achieved in understanding or treating mental illness that are directly relevant to clinical practice. Each year we bring together internationally renowned researchers and clinicians to discuss their findings and share their perspective on each of their expert themes in a clinically relevant manner.
The three themes covered in the 2011 Maudsley Annual Reviews of Psychiatry focus on advances in Major Depressive Disorder, in promoting the physical wellbeing of patients with mental disorders and in improving clinical and functional outcomes through better adherence.
Key Speakers for the Core Scientific programme: Norman Sartorius, Rudolf Uher, Marieke Wichers, George Papakostas, Mark De Hert, Peter Haddad, Andre Tylee, John Hague, Munk-Jùrgensen and Francesc Colom.
Meeting Chairs: Sophia Frangou, Philip McGuire, Rudolf Uher
The event has been awarded 9 ECMEC credits from the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
