Join us on 3 October 2011 in Bristol for two EQUATOR events: seminar focusing on preparing trial reports for publication and EQUATOR 3rd Annual Lecture. Both events precede the MRC Clinical Trials Methodology Conference (4-5 October) and take place at the same venue.

EQUATOR seminar:

Getting your trial published: CONSORT 2010 and other reporting guidelines

Date: Monday 3 October 2011, 14:00 – 17:30
Location: Bristol Marriott Hotel City Centre, Conservatory Room, Bristol, UK
Target audience: Clinical and non-clinical professionals involved in planning, conducting and publishing randomised trials in health research.
Registration fees: £50
Contact: Mrs Tracy Edwards ([log in to unmask])

Preparing a publication of a randomised trial to ensure all important details are included in the report is a very demanding task. This seminar will help you to increase your chances of preparing a first class paper – it will discuss major problems in trial reporting, identify all relevant guidelines useful for manuscript preparation and present the views of journal editors regarding the expected quality of submitted manuscripts.

Presenters include:
Professor Doug Altman, Director, Centre for Statistics in Medicine, University of Oxford
Dr Sally Hopewell, Senior Research Fellow, CONSORT Group, Centre for Statistics in Medicine, Oxford
Mrs Allison Hirst, Research Fellow, EQUATOR Network, Centre for Statistics in Medicine, Oxford
Other speakers to be confirmed

More details and registration form on our website: http://www.equator-network.org/courses-events/

Register now to avoid disappointment – places limited to 100 participants

EQUATOR Annual Lecture:
“Better reporting of better research = better healthcare: a patient plea”

The lecture will be presented by Hazel Thornton, Hon. DSc., founding Chairman of the Consumers’ Advisory Group for Clinical Trials.
Lecture is free; everyone welcome; no registration needed.

We all hope to see you in Bristol!
