Would suspect that the ability for the goggles to cause headaches in in
the eye of the beholder, all sorts of reasons why it could happen
theoretically . You plan sounds pretty good, I would also check the
googles for scratching etc, and also have a bit more of a think about
why he needs to wear them and are there any alternatives. Probably all
you can do is say that it may be possible, would think it difficult to
say how probable
Suspect that said goggles are likley to be classed as PPE, therefore he
has to wear them. If he`s saying he cant he may be limiting his
deployment/employment options, employers like their employees to be
flexible and multi skilled these days.

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Goggles causing headaches??
Good afternoon All,
I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this one: can wearing safety
goggles (in a cleanroom environment) cause headaches? Has anyone ever
heard of this before?
I've been asked to assess an employee to identify if there are any
underlying medical conditions that would cause him to have headaches
upon wearing goggles.
The employee is undergoing cross-training in order to move to a new
area: the manager suggests that the goggles/headache issue may be due to
the fact that employee just doesn't want to move jobs.
I'd be very interested to read your views and experiences before I see
this gentleman.
My initial approach will be to take his history, do a vision test, and
if necessary advise him to see his GP/Optician. (And check the fit of
his goggles).
All views appreciated.
Many thanks
Roisin
