Hi Tracey
You must have a 'written schedule for the administration of medicines' singed by you and a docotr, which gives you the authority to give these vaccines under the exemption to the Medicines Act under which OHA's operate. The vaccine must be an employer scheme for business purposes otherwise the format of the written instruction is called a PGD. OHA's only need PGD formats when they are giving private travel vaccinations or NHS specific care. This is the same for OHA's in the NHS as it is for those in private sector or private practice.
Your written instruction may follow the format of the commonly avialble PGDs but it MUST be signed off by someone who is giving you this authority. Whether that person wants to assess you or not is up to them. Normally someone who is aware of your competence will be happy to sign a document which is witnessing your own self declaration of competency.
A lot fo PGDs can be found on the Greenbook website now or gsk's vaccine website.

Good Morning
I have undertaken hep B vacinations previously once signed off by consultant. In my new role I work alone - My present employer has asked if I can administer both hep B and flu jabs. Please can you advise me how stand alone OHA do this legally and if I require a consultant to assess me again? Last undertook hep b 4 months ago - Flu vaccines 2 years ago. Thank you
