This half day event, organised by the ARLIS Visual Resources Committee,
will explore the changing role of the slide librarian in the digital
age. Whilst there are legal barriers to the use of images in education
and the museum sector, there are no such technological barriers and it
is increasingly difficult for librarians and image curators to support
their users within this context. This event will look at positive ways
in which we can use technology to provide images to our users.
Speakers will include a slide librarian, a copyright specialist and an
academic specialising in eLearning. The afternoon will also include a
workshop session using online tools and resources for image management.
This event will be of interest to slide librarians and visual resource
curators and other professionals working in HE, art colleges, museums,
galleries and art collections, or anyone involved in managing digital
images.
