**apologies if you receive this message more than once**
I am delighted to announce the upcoming workshop Communication Skills for Effective Advocacy, which will be held on the 15 June, 2011 in Manchester. This event is Free of Charge.
This workshop revisits the successful and oversubscribed event held last year with the same name. Workshop participants will explore effective influencing skills, sources of power and methods that Repository Managers and Librarians can use to influence key people in their institutions. The day will include the opportunity to put these new skills into practice and also approaches to effectively handling common objections.
Attendees at last year’s event said:
“This day helped me reflect on how we advocate the repository within the University at the moment, and gave me some ideas on how to improve this both in the short and longer term.”
“This was an excellent event: probably the best I have attended. I really liked the interactive/practical aspects of it, and had the chance to talk to colleagues, too. Thank you.”
