cpd25 is delighted to announce that it is running the above event on Wednesday, 25th May 2011.
This day is aimed at staff in Library and Information Assistant roles who are looking to progress their career, or perhaps change direction. Other library staff may also find it useful as it is suitable for those without LIS applications.
Session overview:
This one day course is perfect for anyone who is looking for ways to improve their skills and gain more experience/qualifications in their current roles and how to plan out their future careers.
Library staff will talk about their experiences completing qualifications such as ACLIP & NVQs and doing a secondment etc, in order to develop their roles.
You will learn how best to prepare yourself for the job application process and how to proactively structure your career. The session will also cover the CILIP qualifications framework.

1.30-2.30: CILIP Qualifications Framework - Michael Martin - Adviser for Qualifications and Professional Development of CILIP
2.30-2.45: Tips from a successful ACLIP candidate - Helen Butler (Deputy Counter Services Supervisor-Kings College)
2.45-3.00: NVQ and Secondment-Paula Thompson (Senior Library Assistant-University of Portsmouth)
3.00: Tea
3.15-4.00: 'I have confidence in ... me - preparing, applying and interviewing for your next job' - Anne Hutchinson, Assistant Director-Information Services, St Mary's University College
