Observational Research Manager
Salary Negotiable - Flexibility with home working part of week - Office based in Bedfordshire

*GPRD Data experience
*Observational Study Design experience

Role:
Develops initial study design and protocol for conducting observational study
*Works closely with Medical and Epidemiological advisors to validate approach and determine clinical codes and finalise protocol.
*Identifies and sources appropriate data for studies.
*Collaborate with Programmer to establish programming requirements for observational research studies.
*Obtain and transform data, conduct statistical analysis, generate tables.
*Develop scientific reports, abstracts, posters, manuscripts as appropriate.
*Present findings to internal and external customer groups, and at scientific meetings.
Knowledge and Experience:
Experience in the use of UK observational datasets ( eg. GPRD and IMS) to answer clinical questions.
*Sound understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the available large observational datasets, UK (Essential) and other European (preferred)
*Sound understanding of observational study designs
*Sound understanding of statistical principles and methodologies applicable to observational data including handling of missing data, confounding, covariates.
*Significant experience in study design, data analysis and SAS programming experience within Epidemiology or Outcomes Research.
